The Aquarius Project: The First Student Led Underwater Search for Meteorites
When a meteor crashed into Lake Michigan, I seized upon the opportunity to put teens at the heart of an unprecedented science expedition. Students collaborated with professional scientists, built and tested scientific equipment, gathered data, and became experts in underwater meteorite recovery. These students also learned to share their story as science communicators and inspired future scientists. The program earned them national recognition (Washington Post/National Geographic) and won the Adler Planetarium a Chicago Innovation Award.
